The Jessica Mathers Trust - About Us

The 'The Jessica Mathers Trust' known as The JMT, has been set up in memory of Jessica Mathers, who died on 2nd March 2007, aged just 13. It is now 3 years since Jessica died.

The Jessica Mathers Trust received charitable status from the Charity Commission in January 2010.

Our motto is 'Don't Stop Believing' - and this can be related to a whole range of aspects, but most importantly - however tough life gets don't stop believing, because there will always be a way through, never give up.

Peak_District_August_2006_006  I am 110% certain that Jessica is watching down at 'The Jessica Mathers Trust' and keeping an eye on things. As this is in memory of her, I would expect that she is. She may not be with us anymore, but her spirit is.

The purpose of the JMT will be to support homeless people, and those whose lives have been disrupted by premature bereavement. Jessica's Heart will become a base for Bench Outreach and a local Compassionate Friends (TCF) group. TCF is an international organisation for the support of bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents.

News

I will keep this section updated with news on a regular basis.

As many of you will know back in April I ran the London Marathon. I completed it in a time of just over 6 hours. It was a great experience and knowing I was doing it for Jessica, made it even more special. I raised over £3000. Thank you to everyone for all your very generous support.

The JMT is registered with Virgin Money Giving. So if you go to the Virgin Money Giving homepage, we come up in the search - the first result, if you type in The Jessica Mathers Trust.

We own a building in Deptford which in the hopefully near future, will be used for meetings, offices, flats and a range of other different purposes to benefit the local community.
We also have a sign on the front of the building 'Jessica's Heart' (with the heart, an actual heart). It also notes the website address on it.

Update on Jessica's Heart: The roof is now finished. The new builder started on the 30th of August
